Why CinderBlox are Special

The Strength of Paper

The quality of MGS paper

Sturdy (not brittle) hammer and bullet resistant

Breathable

No new building techniques needed

Light (you can drop this on your foot without a trip to the hospital)

No waste - spare pieces of Blox are used/recycled in the structure

Others might be building blocks =>
But are they standard building techniques?

Most of our competitors are called "Green" building is only because they are energy efficient. For example, most ICF (insulated concrete form) walls are concrete walls with EPS (e.g. Styrofoam) for insulation. It is the home owner’s preferences if they want to live in a petroleum\concrete walled structure.

Building Green

"The ideal building system, a system that gets builders excited, provides a wall with the best R value, is the least expensive and also the easiest to install.  CinderBlox provides this and is truly 'Green'"

Greenstar CinderBlox reduces its carbon footprint,

while other wall systems only affect it.

True building Green requires attention to:

·         Green manufacturing

·         Simplicity of manufacturing – no new building techniques

·         Sustainability– constructed from renewable resources

·         Minimal waste on the build site – Reduce, Recycle, Reuse

·         Shipping costs consciousness on gasoline prices

·         Minimal price sensitivity to the every increasing price of oil

·         Energy Efficiency of the final structure.

Green is a continuum and seeks to balance all of these elements.

Greenstar CinderBlox are Greener

·         Higher Energy Efficiency Reduces Waste

·         Building excess is Recycled & Reused

·         Locally Sources Materials

·         Low Carbon Footprint

·         Cost Performance

Alternatives to the Greenstar Building Envelope

·         Natural Earth Products

·         Foam Board

·         Cement Board

·         Straw Bale

·         Glass Fiber

·         Insulated Concrete Forms

CinderBlox use mortar joints using the Blox material

·         This allows for level floating between levels

·         Provides consistent insulation properties throughout the wall

·         Provides a monolithic, single material wall  - Not a wall with concrete components and the "Green" material as in other systems.

DEFINITIONS:

CMU - Common Masonry Unit

EPS (Expanded Polystyrene or “Styrofoam”) EPS is used as insulation in walls, roofs, and foundations, as well as a component in structural insulated panels (SIP's).

EFIS - Exterior Insulated Finishing Systems. .Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems is an insulating, decorative and protective finish system for exterior walls that can be installed on any type of construction.

Green – is a way of living, manufacturing, developing, constructing, disposing, recycling, and conserving that incorporates the complete life cycle of the way we live. The major tenants of the green movement include local production and sourcing of materials, energy efficiency, lasting design, livability, sustainability, and utility.

ICF's - Insulated Concrete Forms

R-value - a term predominantly used in the building industry to describe the insulation properties of certain building insulation materials.

SIP's - Structural Insulated Panels
